PERSONAL GEAR
- DUFFEL BAGS - Considered best for storage, and for dirty laundry.
- CLOTHING -

PANTS: Bring a change for each day. Light material is best.
SHIRTS: You may need 1 or 2 each day. If you're sun sensitive, long sleeves
are in order. Light fabric for quick drying and coolness in warm
weather.
SOCKS: Yes! The more the better. At least a pair for each day.
UNDERWEAR: Don't forget them!
JACKET: For those cool fishing nights and cooler weather.
SNEAKERS: Bring 2 pair so you'll always have a dry spare.
- RUBBER BOOTS - One pair of short, comfortable boots.
- HAT - Wide brim, baseball caps, Braid Tropic Hat (with flap). Think sun protection.
- LIGHT RAIN GEAR - Very seldom used, but appreciated when it rains.
- SUNGLASSES - Polarized to cut the glare. Security straps will prevent loss over the side.
- TOILETRIES - Bath towels, shampoo, soap, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. Sunscreen
(waterproof and broad spectrum type).
- TACKLE LIST 7 TO 12 DAY TRIP - Dykes (cross cutting pliers), quality crimpers, duck bill pliers, holder and belt,
hook sharpener.
- ROD BELTS - A personal choice as to what is most comfortable for you. There are several
sizes and a wide price range. (available for rent at Fisherman's Landing).
Recommended types: Braid Sailfish #30175, Pro Manta #30200 or Brute Buster Belt #30900.
- HARNESS - Should be kidney belt or sit down type (bucket) Recommended
types; Braid Brute Buster #30950 / #30975.
- RUBBER GLOVES - For handling your catch at the end of the trip.
- HAY HOOK - For handling fish at the dock.
- CAMERA & FILM - Make sure you have a supply of film and batteries. Cordless video
recorders are also welcome.
- ENTERTAINMENT - Use the travel time to catch up on that favorite book. There is a good
selection of VHS tapes on the boat, and you're welcome to bring one
or two to share.
- WRITING MATERIAL - Notebook, stationary, pens and pencils for making notes on what to
bring on your next trip (and what to leave behind). Keep a daily
journal of the action - it will add to your photos.
- PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP - We do not clear customs on these trips. However, you will be
officially visiting a foreign country. We recommend that you
have a passport or certified copy of your birth certificate with
you.
- SEASICK MEDICATION & REMEDIES - Check with your physician for preferred
method of prevention. Sailors' Secret, all-natural, ginger based motion
sickness remedy has proven results.

- LEADER & BACKING MATERIAL - 1 leader wheel (30') of 150# Momoi. All reels for big tuna (100#+) should be equipped with at least 3/4 spool of 100# Spectra backing, or 150# Spectra backing. It is necessary to have at least 150 yards of mono over the backing.
- CASTING LURES - 6X Jr. Heavy Chrome Single Hook 3Ea. Blue/White Treble Hook
3 Ea. Scrambled Egg Treble Hook 3 Ea. Several brands can be used with
outstanding results. Slammer Jigs in the 750, 770 and 790 series (4oz -
6oz), SALAS, HOPKINS and BRAID are our favorites. For tuna and wahoo single
hooks are a must. Trebles are fine for other fish such as yellowtail. When
deciding on lures, it is sometimes best to wait and consult the personnel at
Fisherman's Landing Tackle Dept. prior to your trip. They have current
information and know what's working.
